2. You rent from a person, not a kiosk
Corporate facilities keep replacing staff with touchscreens and remote call centers. We rent units in person.
When you come out to Schwartz Road or Muskie Drive, you deal with someone who has walked every aisle on the property. That person can tell you whether your boat clears the door at OW Storage, whether the seven-foot roll-up doors at HideAway Storage will take the pallets you are moving, or whether the climate controlled units at Schneider suit what you are storing better than a standard unit at HideAway. The conversation takes five minutes and it routinely keeps people from renting the wrong space.
If something goes wrong later, you call the same number and reach the same people.
3. No introductory rates, no surprise increases
Teaser pricing that jumps after ninety days is standard practice in this industry. We do not use it, because a rate you cannot plan around is not really a rate.
We review pricing once a year. If a change is coming, you get written notice before it takes effect rather than a surprise on your statement.
Contractors and business tenants tend to care about this more than anyone, since a storage cost that moves unpredictably makes job costing harder than it needs to be.
4. Local ownership, local decisions
We are family owned and family operated, so no corporate office in another state is setting policy for Wisconsin. That shows up in practical ways.
The drive aisles at Schneider Road and OW Storage are asphalt paved and wide enough for a semi, because contractors here move material on real trucks. Every location takes semi access. The Springfield storage condominiums are insulated to R-38 in the ceilings and R-16 in the walls, because January in Dane County is not a hypothetical.
All four locations are fenced, gated with coded access around the clock, covered by video camera security, and on a professional pest control schedule. That includes Muskie Drive.
